I know, I know, two postings in two days!! No mom, I'm not re-committing to blogging. Just having an odd day.
Anyway, we went for a little drive yesterday to just get out of the house and explore. On the way home, Brendan says, "Dad, can I drive?" He's only 3.5 yrs old mind you. I started laughing and said, "No way mister. You're waaaay too young!" About five seconds went by and he says, "Dad, I'm not young anymore. I'm older. Now can I drive?" It was at that point that I was laughing partly because I thought it was hilarious and partly because I was nervously thinking to myself, 'If these are his questions at 3.5 yrs old, we're in for it by the time he hits 12.' Not to mention 16, 17 and 18. I hope that faith can still work miracles...it might be my only hope.
We went out for dinner tonight and we're in a booth fairly close to the bathrooms. A large man with a button-up shirt (un-buttoned to show off his hairy, manly chest), sleeves rolled up to his elbow, and an old cowboy hat comes walking down the isle toward the bathroom and hence, towards us. As he's passing us, Brendan says in a voice loud enough for all to hear, "Hi Cowboy!" Of course my undisciplined self busted up laughing and immediately scoured the table for the nearest knife should I suddenly need it.
On the way home from dinner, we're driving past some corn fields and I said, "Brendan, what is that farmer growing?" "Popcorn Dad. Can I hab some?" That was awesome.
I love kids. There's nothing more I would rather do/be than a father (and husband of course :-)). I wish I took time to record all the funny things kids say and do--it's so uplifting.

Jeff, if I remember correctly, didn't you get your first ticket at age 14?? I say justice is well served!!
Hi Jeff! It's about time you guys blog something. I was getting really sick of looking at your blog to see that you are still having a boy. Tell Mel that we are no longer friends since she cant even call me when she is in Utah for a whole entire month. It looks like you guys are doing well. Your children are darling! I really wish that you would move back here so our kids could play.
Jefferson ~ Thanks for blogging mister. I haven't even checked your blog since May or June because I figured there wouldn't be anything on here and I was surprised with 3 new updates. Wow. Nice legs by the way. Have you ever heard of bug spray? I'll mail it to you if you need me to.

Thanks for checking back in--all of you. I was amazed at the number of people that posted comments within a day or two of my posting.
It does prove however, that no one reads the words--only looks at the pictures. I clearly said, those aren't my legs in that photo. Mine are much sexier than those. Just kidding. But seriously, I used bug spray even though I only wore shorts once--to go swimming. I was one of the few that even brought bug spray. Where's the faith sister?
